Born and raised on the island of O'ahu. I became interested in video game design.
With a passion for traveling, I wanted to experience the East Coast.
Ending up in Rochester, NY, I am finishing up my degree in game design and development with
two minors in psychology and French. I will be graduating this spring and am excited for
what happens next.
For my most recent co-op, I traveled across the world from my hometown into another country.
In Paris, France, I worked as a website and graphics designer for Jasmin Santanen. While there,
I was able to put my French minor to use. I learned design from a different perspective, with
a boss that is focused on fashion. With her new lifestyle concept, I was able to work with her in
creating a new website prototype.
For my first co-op, I worked for Digital Media Academy. Here, my confidence with coding definitely
improved. Ranging from elementary to high school ages, I was instructing either C#, Java or Swift,
and TA'ing 3d modeling at UC Irvine, UCLA, and UCSD. Teaching was a great experience because in order
to teach, knowledge of exactly why and how the code works was necessary. Also being chosen to work
with an all girls class was a high moment for myself. My major is somewhat dominated by men,
but slowly, girls are arising in the tech world.
